The Daviess County Landfill released the final batch of compost for the year; the process starts with curbside leaf collection in Owensboro and adds biosolids that heat the pile to 130 degrees for a two-week period before screening. The compost is sold at 7772 Kentucky Highway 815—Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to Noon for $22.00 per cubic yard.
