  • My Fish Doctor, led by Jimmy Forsythe, moved to a larger headquarters at 1425 Triplet Street to expand services for custom aquarium designs in Owensboro and beyond. The company now maintains hundreds of tanks monthly across 12 states — ranging from small homes to large restaurants.  The Owensboro Times

CULTURE NEWS

  • Renowned visual artist Aaron Kizer returns with his I Am Drugs art show at the Owensboro Convention Center on Feb. 6, featuring live painting, music, and a gallery-style exhibit with over 15 local artists. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City officials will unveil the name of the new indoor sports facility being built downtown on Tuesday afternoon. Construction continues as the project moves forward.  Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer

HEALTH NEWS

  • Kentucky now lets high-risk patients start colorectal cancer screening at 40. The law took effect on Jan. 1 (it covers those with a parent, sibling, or child who had cancer or large polyps) and others begin screening at 45.  WDRB

  • Kennedy Lane hit two threes to help the Lady Panthers win 61-52 over Bardstown on Jan. 2. Owensboro Catholic won 64-35 over Trinity (Whitesville) in the 3rd Region All A Tournament with Taylor Mannahan scoring 15 and Layla Martin adding 13.  The Owensboro Times
