  • Kentucky's new Film Office chief, Meg Fister, a local veteran with two decades of experience, aimed to boost film and TV production by promoting the Commonwealth's Entertainment Incentive program. EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Daviess County Public Schools Board decided on Thursday that the new Highland Elementary School will face Hayden Road, allowing designers to move forward by finalizing construction documents for the new building (65,600 sqft planned for 600 students). Construction bids will be set in the spring for a 2027-28 opening.  The Owensboro Times

  • Owensboro Municipal Utilities officials reported strong revenue from its electric and water systems and lower expenses this fiscal year (showing effective management) as part of their midyear review.  Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer

HEALTH NEWS

  • Federal agencies have recalled Live it Up Super Greens powder after salmonella illnesses were reported statewide, including in Kentucky. Consumers who purchased Original + Wild Berry flavors with expiration dates from Aug. 2026 to Jan. 2028 are urged to dispose of the product or return it for a refund.  WOMI Owensboro
