- ➤ The Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport will start a new direct flight to Charlotte through Contour Airlines on Feb. 26. The service will run five days a week (except Tuesday and Saturday), offering more travel options for business and leisure. The Owensboro Times
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The contractor for the Glover Cary Bridge—connecting Owensboro to Indiana—will reopen the bridge this afternoon after months-long delays. Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer
- ➤ Drivers are urged by Kentucky State Police to carry winter emergency kits as severe weather is forecast to hit soon, with Trooper Corey King advising inclusion of blankets, gloves, hand warmers, flashlight, ice scraper, water, snacks, and jumper cables to help prevent battery issues. 14 News
- ➤ City and county agencies are preparing to treat roads based on priority amid heavy snowfall and dangerously cold temps in the coming days. Residents can use real-time maps and sign up for text alerts from OMU, Kenergy & Atmos to report outages and receive updates. The Owensboro Times
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center is asking healthy donors, especially those with A Negative or B Negative blood, to give blood tomorrow to support eight hospitals ahead of a severe winter storm. Donors can visit locations at Owensboro’s 3015 Old Hartford Road plus Hopkinsville’s 1902 South Virginia Street. 14 News
