On Monday, the Owensboro Police Department joined local families for a sledding event on nearby hills (as shared on Facebook) and served hot chocolate donated by Dunkin’ Donuts.

Hezekiah Watkins, known as the Youngest Freedom Rider, will share his civil rights journey at the Young Auditorium on March 12 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. — Sponsored by the KWC NAACP and the Daviess County Public Library, the free event offers a powerful night of storytelling and reflection.

Owensboro will host the GMAC Wrestling Championships on Jan.
31 at the Moore Center Gym (at Brescia University, hosted by Kentucky Wesleyan College) where Division II wrestlers will compete for a conference title; admission is $12 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, with free entry for college ID holders.
