  • Angels for Ashley is hosting a St. Jude cookout at Shoe Stop in Owensboro and Whitesville Mercantile during Big Game weekend. The event offers Boston butts for $35, ribs for $25, and chickens for $15 — all proceeds support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  WOMI Owensboro
  • Barrel Heads Liquor Bar + Tasting Market raised $5,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in a limited bourbon raffle during the Radiothon held Thursday and Friday. The business continues its long tradition of supporting families in need in our community.  WOMI Owensboro

CULTURE NEWS

  • Sons of Habit supported the Window World St. Jude Radiothon today at the Owensboro Sportscenter, sharing their music to help children while planning more festivals and a new album for upcoming shows.  WOMI Owensboro
  • Jaclyn Graves performed her tribute song 'Undefeated' at the WBKR St. Jude Radiothon today to honor Markell’s legacy; the performance linked his courage + inspired ongoing support for the hospital.  WOMI Owensboro

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Owensboro police will soon begin mental health crisis intervention training that is drawing interest from younger officers. Officials say the program will build skills for handling critical calls (a step to improve community response).  Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer

HEALTH NEWS

  • RiverValley Behavioral Health was designated as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic to expand same-day crisis, mental health + substance use services for local residents, and it will add about 150 jobs with extra federal backing. The designation aims to improve access to care for all in our community.  The Owensboro Times

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Lady Aces won 66-49 over the Lady Devils; they will host McCracken County at 3:30 p.m. today. Owensboro Catholic's Red Devils earned a 68-58 victory and will host Apollo on Monday.  The Owensboro Times
