  • Owensboro man Brent McCarty will join the Morning Show tomorrow to share memories of Lincoln, the bald eagle who starred in the Budweiser Super Bowl commercial & served as a bird ambassador in shows.  WOMI Owensboro
  • BBQ & Barrels returns to downtown Owensboro on May 8-9, with country music star Chase Matthew headlining on Saturday and DJ Shay hosting on Friday. The free festival features front-lawn concerts and offers VIP lanyards plus $25 Pit Passes from the City.  WOMI Owensboro

  • Dr. Tom Shelton, a longtime educator and former DCPS superintendent who later led United Way of the Bluegrass, died at 62 on Monday, Feb. 9 in Owensboro; funeral details have not been released.  The Owensboro Times

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Castle Cheerleading squad made history by finishing 5th at the National High School Cheerleading Championships over the weekend, marking their first finals appearance in just their second season.   • Daviess County Panthers bowed out in the state bowling semi-finals on Tuesday, Feb. 10 after losing to Trinity. They secured their fourth seed by rolling an 1181 score and advanced with wins over St. Xavier and Johnson Central.  The Owensboro Times
