Green River Community Food Warehouse has raised nearly $3 million toward a $4 million campaign to build a cold-storage facility for donated food in Owensboro and Daviess County.

Leaders said construction planning will begin when additional funding is secured + the new facility will improve food distribution.

The Chamber and KYFB partnered for the 46th annual Farm City Breakfast on Saturday morning, bringing together local farmers, elected officials, and high school FFA participants — an event that celebrated community support for local agriculture.

Daviess County is building a 12-station outdoor archery range at the Mattingly Target Shooting Range and updating pickleball courts at Yellow Creek Park; the county, which acquired 13.07 acres to expand the range to nearly 90 acres, will invite bids for the court designs when drawings are complete.
