- ➤ The Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport posted images of a Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane (heavy-lift helicopter) that arrived Sunday evening and will remain here for about two weeks. The aircraft, used for large cargo jobs, looks unusual when seen soaring over our skies. WOMI Owensboro

- ➤ Henderson-based Nu-Look Family of Cleaners returned to Owensboro last week and opened a new location at 3101 Alvey Park Drive East across from Chic-fil-A on Highway 54 in the former Concord. Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer

- ➤ Fusion Academy released a survey on Read Across America Day that shows Kentucky readers favor the YA Lightlark saga and Kingsolver’s Demon Copperhead as the top adult novel — a nod to local literary tastes. WOMI Owensboro

- ➤ Kentucky Wesleyan College will host extended evening sessions in March—designed to help prospective students and families get one-on-one support from Admissions and Financial Aid staff; campus tours will be available on selected weekdays from 4 to 6 p.m. with check-in by 5:30 p.m. 44 News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Owensboro Health, in partnership with the Kentucky Cancer Program, is hosting colon cancer awareness events at six locations across western Kentucky, beginning today with sessions at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital from 9 to 11 a.m. Events continue on March 5, 10 and 12 at other Owensboro Health facilities. 44 News
- ➤ Testing now shows Owensboro Municipal Utilities’ drinking water exceeded federal PFAS limits with one chemical measuring 1.3 times above the safe level (other local systems face similar issues). - ➤ WWA’s One Night Only will return to the Owensboro Sportscenter on April 25 at 7 p.m. A meet-and-greet (starting at 5 p.m.) and matchups featuring former national stars and local talent will round out the event. The Owensboro Times
- ➤ Wendell Foster will host its half marathon and 5K on March 28 on Veterans Boulevard. The inclusive race offers a Steps Division for people with disabilities (and a duo team division) to give Owensboro a big race feel with city staff and volunteers. The Owensboro Times
- ➤ Nearly 1,000 people attended the Owensboro Convention Center last weekend for the 2026 S3DA Eastern Indoor Championship, a four-day archery competition featuring youth teams from club organizations. Owensboro teams showed strong performance — individual archers earned podium finishes across age groups. The Owensboro Times
- ➤ Owensboro Catholic overcame Breckinridge County 49-45 Monday night in the 3rd Region Tournament (they trailed by as much as 20 early in the game). In another match, the Lady Cougars lost to Edmonson County in overtime after Addison Spainhoward's three sent the game into extra time. The Owensboro Times
