Gunner, a boxer mix who was previously adopted and returned, has been waiting 650 days at the It Takes a Village shelter in Owensboro for a forever home.

Owensboro officials plan to submit a USD/HUD grant application today to fund projects after Tuesday's board approval; the request aims to stabilize 500 feet of downtown riverbank, develop the 121-acre Massie industrial site, and build The Landing entrepreneurship center in the historic Turley Building.

Carolina Jones won the girls’ high jump today at the KHSAA Class 1A State Indoor Track Field Championships (she cleared 4-10.00 and set a school record) despite limited practice from her basketball schedule.
The 3rd Region Boys Basketball Tournament kicks off tonight at 6 p.m. with Daviess County facing Breckinridge County and a potential collision between Daviess and Grayson counties, while Trinity (Whitesville) and Apollo return to tournament play on Thursday.
The Daviess County Lady Panthers beat Muhlenberg County 52-30 today as they advanced to the 3rd Region Tournament semi-finals.
Kennedy Lane scored 22 points & the team will return Friday to face Meade County.
