  • Owensboro Burger Week returns today with a record 57 local restaurants and food trucks serving $8 specialty burgers as part of a 10-day celebration ending Saturday, March 14. A panel of burger experts will conduct blind taste tests while the public votes for a People’s Choice award.  44 News
  • Owensboro’s expanding BBQ & Barrels Festival is set to add a new craft expo inside the Convention Center and will feature handcrafted goods and custom food vendors on May 8 and May 9 on West 2nd Street downtown — a fresh twist for this local event.  14 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Local school officials say parents can boost children’s readiness for kindergarten by engaging in early learning activities at home as screening takes place at the start of the school year. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Board of Commissioners approved an incentive agreement for the Cardinal Reserve project at 700 Frederica Street that will pay $6,100 per unit for transforming the former U.S. Bank building into a three-story mixed-use structure with 16 new residential units + commercial space downtown.  The Owensboro Times
  • Kentucky Transportation officials say a contractor will inspect the Western Parkway bridge over the Green River near the Muhlenberg/Ohio County line next week, closing the eastbound right lane from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (March 9 to March 13) and causing minor delays.  14 News
