- ➤ Hillbilly's BBQ won Owensboro Burger Week 2026 by selling 2,883 burgers (featuring its signature Double Tap) from its family-run food truck at the Street Eats & Treats lot on Parrish Ave. Local judges rated the entries during the 10-day event that ended on March 14. WOMI Owensboro

- ➤ Daviess County Public Schools announced that Dr. Tricia Murphy, principal at Whitesville Elementary School, has been named the new director of elementary schools. She will oversee schools for students from kindergarten to 5th grade as she takes over from Leslie Peveler, who retires May 31. The Owensboro Times

- ➤ Construction has begun on a new roundabout at the intersection of KY 298 (Old Hartford Road), KY 3143 (Fairview Drive), and Foors Lane, and drivers should expect phased lane shifts and flaggers until mid-November; homeowners may also face questions about property lines and rights. - ➤ Local baseball games kicked off the season on March 18 as Owensboro defeated Breckinridge County 5-3, Owensboro Catholic beat Meade County 2-1, and Daviess County lost a close 4-3 game to Henderson County. The Owensboro Times
