  • Owensboro Burger Week ended with record sales as 78,388 burgers were sold at 59 restaurants, generating $624,904 in burger sales and boosting local revenue. Hillbilly’s BBQ earned the top honor for its Double Tap Burger, and winners were announced during the nine-day event.  44 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Meadow Lands Elementary principal Kevin Lowe will retire at the end of the school year after 27 years with DCPs. Lowe, who led the school for 17 years, said he looks forward to spending more time with his family (both he and his wife work in the district).  The Owensboro Times
  • Junior Achievement of West Kentucky concluded its 2026 Miss Business series, a one-day program held in Owensboro, Henderson and Muhlenberg County that engaged more than 300 8th-grade girls and 120 volunteer mentors — offering breakout sessions in career exploration, financial literacy and portfolio preparation to build confidence.  The Owensboro Times

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Tomorrow, road crews will re-stripe the lanes on Highway 54 (between Heartland Crossing Boulevard and Bold Forbes Way) as part of a project to widen the road and add a concrete safety median; drivers should expect lane closures during the work.  14 News

  • The Lady Panthers clinched an 8-0 shutout win over Greenwood last night as home runs by Calle Smith and Storey Hume powered the team—nine seniors will face Allen County-Scottsville this evening before traveling to Liberty Creek for Saturday’s doubleheader.  The Owensboro Times
