  • Community leaders and program representatives gathered Monday at a nearly two-hour forum hosted by the Owensboro Human Relations Commission to discuss youth gun violence, its causes, and potential solutions.   • Owensboro’s new indoor theme park at Towne Square Mall is nearing completion this Spring and held a two-day hiring event on Monday at Hampton Inn + Suites to fill open positions. The venue will offer multiple attractions and fun for families when it opens.  14 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • BBQ & Barrels 2026 brings bourbon dinners, tastings and live music to downtown Owensboro from Thursday, May 7 to Saturday, May 9.   • EvilleCon (an annual anime and cosplay event) hosted its first event at the Owensboro Convention Center after relocating from Evansville. Organizers said the move marks a new chapter in its nearly two-decade history.  Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer

  • Drew Watson, a local wealth advisor with Ameriprise Financial, was ranked No. 1 in Kentucky for the second year by Barron’s, showing his strong client bonds. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Residents aged 20 or older who pass a background check can apply for the Citizens Academy at the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office. The program runs every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. starting April 14 through June 16.  14 News
  • The Daviess County Fiscal Court held a ceremony at the detention center to honor six graduates of the Reentry Success Program. The training in manufacturing and skilled trades aims to help former inmates secure stable jobs and rebuild their lives.  44 News
