COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Stewart Promotions announced the Owensboro Flea Market will open this weekend at the Owensboro Convention Center with over 275 vendor booths selling antiques, collectibles, jewelry and electronics. The market will run Friday from 2 to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  TriStateHomepage.com

BUSINESS NEWS

  • UniFirst will break ground on its $28 million expansion of the distribution and fulfillment center in Owensboro on Thursday, March 27 at 2:30 p.m. The project will add 109,000 square feet of space, upgrade equipment, and enhance personalization capabilities (2801 UniFirst Dr.).  44 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Owensboro Parks and Recreation will cut the ribbon for the new Moreland Park playground on March 26 at 12:30 p.m. The nearly 7,000-square-foot playground features accessible play areas and special installations—partially funded by a state tire-derived products grant—and Lisa Evans from the Kentucky Energy and Environmental Cabinet will assist with the event.  City of Owensboro
  • A contractor for the Transportation Cabinet began a cable maintenance project on the Natcher Bridge on March 24—with drivers now facing lane restrictions as all traffic moved to one northbound lane in each direction—and the agency will shift lanes to southbound use in late summer or early fall as the project is set to finish by March 2026.  Daviess County
  • Today the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will block Barron Drive KY2707 and Middleground Drive West at their meeting with Carter Road KY2698 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to install new traffic signals+ officials explained that special lower clearance mast arm poles were chosen because of high voltage lines and the signals will flash for about two weeks to help drivers adjust.  14 News
  • Daviess County Fiscal Court unanimously approved upgrades at Stanley, Yellow Creek, and Panther Creek parks that include new lights for Stanley—new restroom construction at Yellow Creek where the current facility stays open—and replacement of shelters at both parks. The court awarded bids to Musarra & West Construction, LLC and has secured grant funding to reduce the county’s local cost.  The Owensboro Times
