- ➤ Students from the BHC program at Owensboro Middle School launched the Neighborly initiative when nonprofit reps spoke at a panel session on March 30 — they will lead an April donation drive to collect food, socks and hygiene products for local shelters. The Owensboro Times
- ➤ Community members, students, and local leaders meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday on the front steps of the Daviess County Courthouse to mark Child Abuse Prevention Month. - ➤ GRABC’s Owensboro site is offering free tax preparation for low- and moderate-income residents with appointments available now and walk-in service on April 15 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.). - ➤ Rhonda M. Pearson, a longtime associate minister, has been named pastor of Fourth Street Baptist Church (the first female pastor in its 195-year history).
