- ➤ Today Owensboro's downtown trolley began its summer schedule offering free rides Monday through Saturday. The trolley runs Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.—it does not run on Sundays. 44 News

- ➤ PMI CEO Stacey Kennedy visited Owensboro to discuss Swedish Match expansion after Governor Beshear announced over $200 million investment that will create more than 450 jobs. Kennedy said the expansion — which has already added 370 jobs and received FDA approval for 20 nicotine pouch varieties — is scheduled to finish by June. TriStateHomepage.com

- ➤ A recent Owensboro water quality report found seven contaminants above safe levels—hexavalent chromium at 59 times and arsenic at 265 times the safe limits. Residents can check their tap water quality by entering their zip code on the Environmental Working Group website. WOMI Owensboro

- ➤ Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is upgrading its license system so that 15 year olds can schedule a written permit test appointment starting today after Governor Beshear signed House Bill 15. The new law lowers the permit age from 16 while keeping the rules for a full license unchanged—applicants still need a birth certificate and Social Security card. WDRB
- ➤ Daviess County EMA is providing sandbags to residents ahead of potentially historic rainfall forecast to hit today through April 6 — the measure comes as officials take precautions for heavy rain. Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer
- ➤ Owensboro city officials noted that a contractor repairing the street for Fire Station #3 closed Cravens Avenue—between Pennbrooke Avenue and Gardenside Drive—yesterday to fix the road after a storm sewer installation, and the closure will last for two days if there are no delays. 44 News
- ➤ Officials from I-69 Ohio River Crossing have shared current traffic restrictions in Kentucky on US 41 and US 60—southbound US 41 from KY 351 to Audubon Parkway will have one lane restricted until the end of May while the northbound lane at the KY351/2nd Street overpass is restricted until late April, and daily lane closures continue between KY 425 and US 60. Upcoming changes include US 60 lane shifts starting on April 11th and 12th, overnight closures for the KY 2084 overpass in mid-April, and an Airline Road Bridge closure set to begin on or after April 21 that will last until the new school year—Adams Lane Bridge is set to reopen by mid to late May.
