  • The no-kill rescue shelter is flooded by heavy rains that have filled its kennels with water and called on neighbors to foster its cats and dogs. Workers and volunteers dug trenches yesterday—yet water still entered the shelter, intensifying the need for safe homes.  44 News
  • Owensboro native David Johnson has returned to help local drivers repair hail-damaged vehicles with his paintless dent repair service from Paintless Auto Repair Specialists. He worked overseas to hone his craft and now plans to schedule repairs to avoid long wait times for his hometown customers.  The Owensboro Times

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Traffic on U.S. 41 has been backed up since Saturday when a semi-truck overturned near the new I-69 curve—officers are directing traffic and northbound lanes are expected to remain closed for several more hours.  44 News

  • Two people were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds after a shots fired incident on the 1000 block of W. 5th Street Friday evening—police later found an abandoned vehicle with bullet holes near HL Neblett Community Center and several shell casings.  14 News
