- ➤ Property owners from Specialty Food Group removed tents and belongings from a homeless camp known as Tent City near English Park on Monday (Apr. 6) using bulldozers and tree cutting; community members noted they had been asked to leave for weeks. 14 News
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A house fire on Graham Lane East in Daviess County on April 5 resulted in the loss of 19 pets, including 13 dogs and six cats, as firefighters quickly controlled the blaze using a hydrant + help from neighboring departments. The Owensboro Times

- ➤ Sleet Park has been added to the African American Heritage Trail to honor Owensboro native Moneta Sleet Jr., who would have celebrated his 100th birthday on Valentine's Day. Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer

- ➤ Local sports broadcaster David Howard will host Owensboro Elite QB Camp at Steele Stadium over two weekends in June, offering training for sixth graders through high school seniors from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. The $150 camp fee includes a dry-fit t-shirt + a 30-second highlight tape for each athlete.
