- ➤ Whitney Cox—an Owensboro native and Hilltopper grad—opened her mobile bar called The Craft OBKY in 2023 and later trained at barber school to become the town’s first barbertender at Headquarters Barber Shop at Wesleyan Park Plaza. - ➤ El Molcajete is opening a second Owensboro location today at 3034 KY 144 in the former El Toribio building. Owners Luder Villanueva and Onoel Castilla said they will keep the authentic menu and full bar service while finalizing staff hires and adding an outdoor patio with nine tables and umbrellas. - ➤ Rising water levels along the Ohio River have forced city officials to close Smothers Park today from Allen Street to Frederica Street, including Lazy Dayz Playground, the fountains and the concession area—this step is taken for public safety. Officials have also closed the Riverwalk between McConnell Plaza and Allen Street and Veterans Boulevard from Allen to Frederica until cleanup is complete. TriStateHomepage.com

- ➤ Gov. Beshear said Maryland Task Force members are moving to Henderson as heavy rains raise Ohio River levels and evacuations may start today—357 National Guard members and other resources are on standby to assist residents. The state is taking extra precautions to support search and rescue and help those in danger. 44 News
- ➤ Henderson Emergency Management reported that U.S. 60 between the Spottsville Bridge and the Henderson/Daviess County line was closed due to high water as of Tuesday morning—only local traffic is allowed while the Kentucky National Guard assists with control. 44 News
- ➤ Crews shut parts of Veterans Boulevard between Frederica and Allen Streets and sections of Smothers Park as the Ohio River begins to spill over—city officials advise residents to avoid the area until cleanup is complete. 14 News
- ➤ Yesterday, McLean County Judge Executive Curtis Dame said in an exclusive interview that flooding is causing serious problems in McLean and nearby areas—he added that officials are monitoring the situation and will update the public as more data becomes available. Owensboro Radio
