  • Storm Hunter Nation is collecting supplies for flood victims at Ritzy’s off KY-54 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today through Sunday to help Butler County—one of the hardest hit areas by recent floods.   • The Owensboro Spring Carnival has returned to the former Towne Square Mall parking lot since Friday evening and will run until April 19 following safety guidelines. Casey’s Rides Inc. provides rides, games, and fair food with armbands costing $25 and tickets offered at $1.50 each.  The Owensboro Times

  • A large tree branch fell on Doug Wathen’s truck in Owensboro on Thursday — no one was hurt.  14 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Roots and Wings Childcare and Preschool in Owensboro earned the highest quality rating in the Kentucky All STARS program as a Level 5 provider, making it the only private childcare center in the city with this honor. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Owensboro officials announced that W. 3rd Street between Daviess and Allen streets will close on April 13th for the setup of the HealthForce Mobile Lab near the Owensboro Museum of Science and History — the closure will last through Thursday night and drivers are advised to use West 2nd or West 4th Street as alternate routes.  14 News
