- ➤ The McLean County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a flood relief donation drop-off to help those affected by flooding in Western Kentucky. - ➤ A vehicle struck Huck’s Market on Parrish Avenue near J.R. Miller Boulevard on Monday morning—breaking two windows when the driver accidentally hit the gas and drove into the building, and the store remains open with no injuries reported as cleanup continues. The Owensboro Times
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Ohio River in Owensboro dropped about three feet since Friday after cresting at 47.54 feet. It is expected to fall below flood stage by Wednesday morning—easing flood concerns for local residents. Daviess County
- ➤ 2025 is shaping up to be a record-breaking tornado season in western Kentucky, southern Indiana and southern Illinois — the National Weather Service reports 41 tornadoes have touched down in our region with a combined damage path of 473.5 miles, breaking the previous record from 2011. Tornadoes on April 10 in Princeton and in mid-March caused damage to homes and schools, and experts warn more severe weather is possible as the season continues. WOMI Owensboro

- ➤ Deputies in Daviess County will host drive-thru vehicle inspections on Wednesday, April 16 and Wednesday, April 23 at the old Malco 16 on Frederica Street from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists must be in the car needing inspection with glass already repaired and bring a driver’s license, vehicle title, and an insurance letter on letterhead stating totaled due to hail damage and the VIN number — fees are $15 payable by cash or check only. 14 News
