- ➤ Summer Daviess County Fair Pageants return at the high school auditorium (for older divisions) and at the fairgrounds (for younger groups), starting June 19 with further events on June 20, 27, 28, and in July. - ➤ Mike Payton, a 51-year-old Owensboro native, has moved into a WKU dorm to care for his son with Duchenne muscular dystrophy while starting a career as a Christian country songwriter. He faces challenges like heavy snow and crowded elevators while balancing caregiving. The Owensboro Times
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Bluegrass Museum will start a new semester of group music lessons on April 28 with classes in fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin and band, including a special needs option led by Randy Lanham. Students ages 9 and up will perform at ROMP and can access scholarships and instrument borrowing options. The Owensboro Times
- ➤ The Owensboro Area World Affairs Council will close its spring season on Monday, Apr. 20 at 7 p.m. in the Panther Room at Kentucky Wesleyan College with Dr. Soleiman Kiasatpour presenting 'Iran and Regime Change: A Citizen’s Perspective' to mark its 20th anniversary & remote viewing will be available.
