- ➤ The 74th annual National Day of Prayer event is set for May 1 on the Daviess County Courthouse lawn from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees will join a Circle of Good News reading from 11:30 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. and then take part in prayer, worship, and testimony until the event moves indoors at First Baptist Church—if it rains. - ➤ On Saturday afternoon, members of the Owensboro Symphony and volunteers built walls for Habitat for Humanity of Owensboro-Daviess County to be used in future home projects. Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer

- ➤ Mancave for Men opened its doors on Friday in downtown Owensboro—at 234 Frederica Street, Suite #102—to offer luxury barber services that include haircuts with shampoo and hot towel treatments. - ➤ Daviess County announced three sites for residents to drop off flood-affected interior home debris. A temporary site at Stanley Park will operate from April 22 to May 3 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday—residents can also bring debris to the county landfill or Knottsville Convenience Center for free. - ➤ Local entrepreneurs Timmy Barron, Leland Herzog, and Andrew Thorp turned a backyard frisbee toss into Tizbee, an official trademarked sport with its own scoring system and custom equipment—built on a retro marketing vibe—and they will launch pre-orders later this year while planning live tournaments and leagues. - ➤ Seven Owensboro High School athletes signed letters to play college sports—Black and Mutabazi will join Kentucky Wesleyan, Devine is headed to Georgetown, DeLacey will attend KWC, Hill signed with Wabash, John chose Midway and Barnett will play at Transylvania University.
