  • The Whitesville Lions Club returns on Friday with its annual Chili Supper and Pie Auction in Whitesville, an event they have hosted for over 30 years.  Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer
  • MOD Pizza in Owensboro closed permanently on Wednesday (April 22) without warning, leaving nearly 20 employees suddenly jobless. Community members and local businesses quickly stepped in to help the workers find new opportunities.  The Owensboro Times
  • Mary Carrico Catholic School will host a drive-thru barbecue fundraiser on Sunday, Apr. 26 at 11 a.m. at the St. Lawrence Picnic Grounds in Philpot.   • Workers are removing the damaged atrium frame today at Owensboro Museum of Fine Art — they will install a new frame and skylight that measures 44 feet 4 inches by 14 feet.  Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer
  • The free weekly summer music series Friday After 5 drew visitors from 32 states + four countries and ranked first among 196 Kentucky attractions, according to board member Kirk Kirkpatrick at the Owensboro-Daviess County Convention.  Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer

  • Old Farmer's Almanac predicts a hot, dry summer for the Ohio River Valley — with peak heat from early June through July. Owensboro residents should plan for higher electric bills and stressed crops while taking steps to stay cool.  WOMI Owensboro

SPORTS NEWS

  • Owensboro native Reagan Durham earned a spot at the Hunt Seat National Finals by advancing in the Interscholastic Equestrian Association series and will compete in the middle-school Division tomorrow. She will ride an unknown horse in two heats with the top eight advancing to one final round.  The Owensboro Times
