- ➤ Residents of Owensboro came together last weekend when a local woman asked for help lending her a lawn mower and mowing her yard, with neighbors and Jansen Crowe from Cowabunga Lawn and Landscaping stepping in to assist—restoring her faith in the community. - ➤ On April 26, the Isaac Sterett Adventure Foundation hosted its third annual Operation Community Cleanup as 772 volunteers gathered at 1010 Allen Street to collect over 450 bags of trash across Owensboro and Daviess County. A 32-team contest saw Sutton Elementary finish first while DCHS sports teams on Sunday organized 140 volunteers to collect over 50 trash bags—boosting the overall cleanup effort. The Owensboro Times
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Officials responded after a semi hauling an excavator crashed into the West 5th Street Road overpass at 12:15 p.m. Monday—no injuries were reported and crews closed eastbound lanes along with nearby roads while inspectors assessed the overpass damage. TriStateHomepage.com
- ➤ Officials closed eastbound U.S. 60 at the 10.6 mile point near the westbound Audubon Parkway ramp after a vehicle struck the West 5th Street Road overpass on Monday at 12:15 p.m.—inspectors are approaching to assess the damage and block the nearby road until safety is confirmed. 14 News

- ➤ Downtown Owensboro is filled with Boston Terriers as the National Specialty Show unfolds at the Owensboro Convention Center — an event hosted by the Heartland Boston Terrier Club that began on April 28 and runs until May 2 — drawing local dog lovers. - ➤ PorchFest OBKY will take place on June 14 along Griffith Avenue with nearly 40 acts on 12 stages—this year the event adds a karaoke stage for extra fun. The free festival will also have food vendors and is expected to draw thousands of attendees. The Owensboro Times
