- ➤ David Biggs, the driver in a deadly January crash at West 2nd Street and Ewing Road that took the life of 49-year-old Brian Bedwell, was charged with murder + meth trafficking, DUI, and running a red light after investigators secured multiple search warrants. 44 News

- ➤ Tim Riley stepped down as head boys’ basketball coach at Owensboro Catholic after 10 winning seasons and accepted the same role at Christian Academy of Louisville—he said the move was driven by family needs. The Owensboro Times
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State crews are limiting traffic to one lane on the U.S. 431 bridge over Panther Creek just south of Owensboro for several months as they demolish and rebuild each half with temporary signals and an 11-foot vehicle width limit. Each half is expected to take 60 to 90 days to complete with full work finishing by the end of November—drivers should expect delays along this busy route. The Owensboro Times
- ➤ Owensboro officials unveiled a proposed $76.5M budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year that will invest in public safety, infrastructure, and community events while keeping tax rates unchanged. City Manager Nate Pagan said timing delays in capital projects may affect next year’s totals+ commissioners will hold a public hearing later this spring before voting on the proposal. - ➤ A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet began replacing the U.S. 431 bridge over Panther Creek in Petit on Monday—temporary automatic signals will direct traffic as one lane with 11 ft clearance remains open. - ➤ Today, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office will hold a remote vehicle inspection at the Kentucky Sound Stage on Frederica Street from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.—residents must bring an ID, a letter from their insurance showing 75% or more damage, the vehicle title and $15 in cash or a written check, and ensure windshields are fixed and free of cracks; large trucks, enclosed trailers and RVs are welcome. 14 News
