- ➤ A student’s report from a local speaking-up program led to Owensboro Police arresting 53-year-old Irene Nison Martinez Gomez on April 24 on multiple child sex abuse charges — including first degree rape and sexual abuse of minors — after investigators confirmed years of abuse by someone known to the victim’s family. 44 News
- ➤ DCSO officers arrested two Cadillac Motel residents on April 30 for meth trafficking and child endangerment after undercover detectives found drugs, a loaded handgun, and other evidence near unsecured drugs accessible to two children—further arrests and charges are expected. The Owensboro Times

- ➤ The Owensboro Symphony announced that its upcoming 60th season, presented by Owensboro Health, will begin with a five concert subscription series starting in October.
