- ➤ Mulzer Family of Companies reopened its downtown yard at 701 E. Second Street to offer residents material pickup including crushed stone, sand, gravel, concrete, and lime (open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon). The company is also expanding its Bypass Yard at 5001 KY 2830 (work expected to finish by the end of the third quarter) to boost local service options. The Owensboro Times

- ➤ Independence Bank awarded $139,400 in scholarships to 71 high school seniors from 15 Kentucky counties at a ceremony on Frederica Street in Owensboro this week—awards that range from $500 to $15,000 as part of its annual 2025 Scholarship Program supporting students pursuing higher education. - ➤ Today, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced new remote driver licensing options called ‘Skip the Line’ that let Kentuckians renew licenses online, in office, or by mail — Gov. - ➤ Kentucky passed House Bill 258—Ethan’s Law—on April 4th last year to make the torture of dogs and cats a felony with penalties including up to 5 years in jail and fines up to $10,000.
