- ➤ The Owensboro Parks and Recreation Department will hold free Tai Chi classes every Friday morning through the end of May and free yoga classes every Tuesday evening through June 3rd. - ➤ The Owensboro Police Department is searching for 15-year-old Bailey Smith, who went missing over the weekend—she was last seen on the 1300 block of W. 3rd Street wearing black leggings, black socks, a navy blue sweatshirt, and gray New Balance shoes as authorities label her an endangered runaway. 14 News
- ➤ Daviess County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 61-year-old Christopher Claypool on May 3 after investigating a May 1 shooting at a home on the 5500 block of KY 144 in Thruston—deputies later located him and seized several drugs and related items. Owensboro Radio

- ➤ Owensboro’s BBQ and Barrels Festival now features the new BBQ Blueprint — a special selection of BBQ dishes created by local vendors and food trucks inspired by Owensboro Burger Week. The festival runs Friday, May 9th and Saturday, May 10 in downtown Owensboro and will include church cooking teams, a revived Backyard Cookoff, and free entertainment with performances by Clay Walker and Drew Baldridge — promising fans an exciting weekend. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Tuesday, the city approved a $1.5 million incentive package to support a planned $17.7 million family entertainment center on the former Towne Square Mall property on South Frederica—TS Entertainment must invest at least $10.5 million and meet construction milestones within 24 months to receive installment payments. The project received over $2 million in state tourism incentives and is expected to create 75 full-time and 50 part-time jobs while revitalizing a 33-acre area. The Owensboro Times
