A huge crowd turned out for the BBQ & Barrels event at a local park on Saturday, where residents enjoyed barbecue and craft beverages.

The Owensboro Art Guild is hosting its annual Plein Air Art Event at Western Kentucky Botanical Garden on June 6 for a day of outdoor painting and art appreciation.

LEAP Services will host a free Mental Health Resource Fair on May 16 at 1858 Triplett Street from 10 a.m. to noon — community groups, local leaders and a Governor’s Office video will promote mental wellness in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month.
On May 9, Hancock County swept its doubleheader while Apollo and McLean County split theirs and Trinity (Whitesville) was shut out.
In addition, teams in the Spartan Showcase and Lauren Girten fundraiser posted mixed results with standout plays from key players.
