- ➤ The Nicky Hayden Day Memorial Ride will take place June 8 with opening ceremonies starting at 1 p.m. at the statue outside the Owensboro Convention Center where Hayden family members will speak. Riders will follow a route that passes by the resting places of Nicky and his father — while live music, food trucks, and a pop-up shop help raise funds for local nonprofits honoring the late MotoGP champion. - ➤ LMAS & Kentucky Humane Society teamed up with The Hammer on Saturday to help hundreds of dogs and puppies find forever homes. WDRB
- ➤ The Daviess County Courthouse lawn will be filled with American flags for the 12th annual Walk of Honor hosted by the Kiwanis Club, where community members can sponsor flags to honor significant individuals—sponsors can purchase one flag for $40, two for $70 or three for $90 until May 16, and the display will be set up ahead of Memorial Day weekend and remain through July 4. - ➤ A free Brown Bag Lunch Concert returns Tuesday with works by Shostakovich and Schmitt. It runs from 12:15 to 1 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church on Ford Avenue—featuring performers Kathy Karr, clarinetist Kirsten Ahnell, and pianist Sharon Hudson while inviting audience questions after the show.
