- ➤ Wendell Foster is hosting a spring yard sale fundraiser later this week to fund residents' holiday gifts. Donations accepted May 12 to 14 and the sale runs May 14 from 3 to 6 p.m. and May 15 from 7 a.m. to noon at the campus at 815 Triplett St. The Owensboro Times
- ➤ The Salvation Army is marking National Salvation Army Week today through May 17 as it honors its mission to serve neighbors in need across local communities including Owensboro. - ➤ A vehicle fire has temporarily closed one westbound lane on the Owensboro Bypass between New Hartford Road and I-165, with crews working on the blaze + the sheriff’s office advises drivers to avoid the area to prevent traffic backups. 14 News

- ➤ Connor Cundiff and Abby Sapp signed their college commitment letters last week, with Cundiff set to play soccer at Brescia University (just half a mile from his home) and Sapp preparing to join Spalding University’s basketball team. The Owensboro Times
