- ➤ Owensboro Memorial Gardens is hosting Memorial Day events to honor veterans including a flag placement today at 9 a.m. and the 28th Annual A Day of Remembrance on Saturday, May 23 at 2 p.m. featuring guest speaker Nicholas W. Hetman — a U.S. Navy veteran honored for his service. 14 News
- ➤ Several Memorial Day events in Owensboro and Daviess County will honor fallen service members this week. Plans include flag placements, a run at Smothers Park on May 19, and other ceremonies through May 26, with food donations welcomed (the Sons of the American Revolution event was canceled).
