- ➤ Owensboro Parks and Recreation announced that Combest Pool, Cravens Pool and all three City Spray Parks will open Saturday, May 24 to kick off summer. 14 News
- ➤ Owensboro Parks and Recreation officials announced today that construction has begun on a new playground at York Park as the old equipment is being demolished—this modern play space will offer a safe and fun area for children and families while the rest of the park stays open. The project will finish in the coming weeks depending on the weather. 14 News
- ➤ Local school districts will provide free meals for anyone under 18 during summer break at fixed locations and mobile stops starting May 21, with Daviess County Public Schools hosting its Summer Feeding Kickoff on May 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Meals must be eaten on site+ drive-through pickup is no longer available. - ➤ Virginia Hardesty opened Displaced Pages — a new book and record store — in downtown Owensboro on Saturday across from Dee’s Diner.
