- ➤ On Friday, Daviess County Public Schools held their second annual Summer Feeding Kickoff event that provided free lunch, outdoor games, and board games for kids and families. The district will run mobile routes through neighborhoods until August 1 to help ensure kids have food throughout the summer. 14 News
- ➤ Friday After 5 returned to the riverfront—featuring food trucks, a petting zoo and live shows by Leathers and Lace, 90’s Rock Circus and Snake Oil—after a week delay from bad weather. The festival will run until August 1—continuing its summer run of local fun. 14 News

- ➤ Jeremiah Byrd was sentenced to 25 years for fatally shooting Gaymee Paw in Ben Hawes Park in Owensboro—he pleaded guilty to murder, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a handgun by a minor as officers found Paw shot in the head and later pronounced her dead. TriStateHomepage.com

- ➤ The Bulldog Art Camps will be held at First Christian Church—700 J.R. Miller Boulevard, with a session for kindergarten to 2nd-grade students from June 9 to 13 and another for 3rd to 5th graders from July 21 to 25; breakfast and lunch are provided. The free camps let students try different art projects with local guest artists and are organized by Estes, Cravens, and Foust elementary schools. The Owensboro Times

- ➤ Daviess County Public Schools launched a summer feeding program today at a county high school football field to provide free meals for children 18 and under. - ➤ Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials said lane closures will begin on Fairview Drive South next week as contractors install water and sewer lines for the KY 54 Widening Project—starting with northbound lane restrictions on Thursday, a 10-foot southbound lane on Friday and full closures near the KY 54 intersection on Saturday and Sunday with work expected to finish Sunday evening. 14 News
- ➤ Daviess County will hold its annual Delinquent Property Tax Sale on August 14 for any unpaid 2024 tax bills — property owners can avoid a lien by paying in full by August 11 at the Clerk’s Office in Room 104 of the county courthouse, open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
