- ➤ VFW Post 696 in Owensboro opened its Remembrance Field of Poppies on Friday and the display remains open through Memorial Day weekend. Local veterans maintain the red & white poppies as a tribute to fallen heroes. 14 News
- ➤ Today, Owensboro residents gathered at Owensboro Memorial Gardens for the 28th annual A Day of Remembrance to honor fallen military heroes. The ceremony featured a dove release plus a veteran food drive, and another service is set for tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Veterans Triangle inside Rosehill-Elmwood Cemetery. 14 News
