- ➤ An Owensboro native, Joni Paynter, uses her Lexington-based Kentucky Shop to sell Kentucky Strong t-shirts—100% of the proceeds will aid tornado victims in London and Somerset, with $145,000 raised so far this campaign. Her previous efforts raised over $400,000 in one week for tornado relief in Hopkins and Muhlenberg counties in 2021. 14 News

- ➤ The West Kentucky Film Commission officially launched yesterday at the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts as state and local leaders gathered to spotlight the region’s film industry. Gov. - ➤ Governor Andy Beshear will meet with regional leaders this afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts in Madisonville to announce the new West Kentucky Film Commission — which will highlight industry initiatives, workforce development, and opportunities for local businesses and creatives across Henderson, Owensboro, Central City, Bowling Green, Paducah, Oak Grove, and Franklin. - ➤ Daviess County Fiscal Court said hundreds of American flags will be respectfully retired in a ceremony at Panther Creek Park on Saturday, June 14th around 5 p.m. at the South entrance—residents with unserviceable flags may drop them off at the park or with a local veteran organization instead of disposing of them in the trash. 44 News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Owensboro Health will invest $200,000 over the next three years in two planned projects—a Green River Community Food Warehouse and a Senior Community Center—to fight food insecurity and boost senior well-being.
