- ➤ Two Owensboro Middle School students have raised over $700 by selling candy, bracelets and keychains at Marathon Gas station on West Parrish Avenue to help with bills after their mother’s stage three breast cancer diagnosis almost a year ago—she is now cancer free but faces more preventive surgeries. Their family will host a car wash on Saturday, June 14 at Advanced Auto Sales on Parrish Avenue to gather extra funds for overdue expenses. 14 News

- ➤ Owensboro will host its first SPARKY Mrs. Roper Downtown Crawl on July 12th at 5 p.m. at RiverPark Center—participants are invited to dress up, including dogs, for a scavenger hunt and prize contests inspired by similar events across the country. WOMI Owensboro

- ➤ Daviess County Public Schools Virtual Academy teacher Beth Ewing was selected for the prestigious Auschwitz Legacy Fellowship to deepen her knowledge of Holocaust history and share new teaching strategies. - ➤ On Saturday an EF-0 tornado hit along Highway 431 in Owensboro and damaged a billboard + several stores while traveling 2.14 miles, and another brief EF-0 tornado in Hatfield with 65 mph winds caused minor tree damage. TriStateHomepage.com
- ➤ The National Weather Service is checking for damage from a possible tornado in Owensboro — Governor Andy Beshear said reports came in yesterday and no injuries were reported. Officials will update the public as they gather more information. TriStateHomepage.com
