Chick-fil-A in Owensboro hosts a Touch a Truck event at its Hwy 54 location on Tuesday, Jun.
16 from 4pm to 7pm. Kids under 12 get free food as visitors explore vehicles (helicopter, firetruck, ambulance, tow truck, semi, garbage truck, military humvee, Owensboro Trolley).
The Owensboro Rotary Club donated $10K toward service projects, including $5K to convert the WeatherBerry carport at the (Western Ky Botanical Garden) into an event space named The Portico.
🎭 Culture
Fans of anime, gaming, cosplay and pop culture are gathering this weekend at the Owensboro Convention Center for OMG!con (a large fan convention) which runs until Sunday afternoon.
The event features arcade games, contests, musical acts and vendors.
🎓 Education
Kentucky Wesleyan College announced that President Dr. James P.
Cousins will step down on July 31 after five years of service, and the Board of Trustees will soon meet to name an interim leader while planning a new four-credit hour academic model starting in fall.

Beef O’Brady’s hosted a watch party today for Apollo High baseball fans supporting their team during the state semi-finals in Lexington; many fans arrived early to cheer on the players from Owensboro.
Senior citizens from local counties competed in the 2026 Senior Games today at Ohio County Park.
Hosted by the Green River Area Development District — the event featured a range of games, a picnic meal and medal ceremonies, and also celebrated the 30-year anniversary of the Ohio County Senior Center.
