ECONOMY NEWS

  • Judge/Executive Charlie Castlen attended a groundbreaking at Paradise Regional Industrial Park where Biomass Engineering and Equipment will invest $20 million and create 250 new jobs + the project is a collaboration among five counties that will help the host county recoup its investment over four years through a 1% occupational tax.  Daviess County

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Officials in Daviess County are moving forward with a $3.5 million highway safety project that will add a new restricted u-turn intersection along U.S. 60 at Wrights Landing Road & Hawes Boulevard. The project is expected to be complete by mid-November and aims to address 52 accidents reported over the past five years.  TriStateHomepage.com
  • Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman announced today that Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family reached a $73.1 million settlement, bringing the state's recovery from opioid lawsuits to over $1 billion. Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita said state and local governments will receive up to $100 million over the next 15 years to help fight the opioid crisis—pending bankruptcy court approval for the local sign-on process.  WDRB

  • RiverValley Behavioral Health, Owensboro Health and the Green River District Health Department have partnered to form the Green River Regional Mental Health Collaborative to address mental health needs and improve overall wellness in western Kentucky. The group will meet monthly to assess community needs, expand programs such as CredibleMind and promote HealthyMindsKY.org with resources like the 988 Crisis Lifeline.  The Owensboro Times
