EDUCATION NEWS

  • Senate Bill 167 will require elementary students in Kentucky to learn cursive starting with the 2025-2026 school year — a move to revive old writing skills. High schools must let students sign their name to graduate and will offer typing courses — officials say the change will help keep handwriting alive.  WOMI Owensboro

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bryce Caldwell, an Owensboro attorney and partner at Gordon, Goetz, Johnson & Caldwell, has been appointed as a circuit court judge for Daviess County's 6th Judicial Circuit to fill the vacancy left by retiring Judge Jay Wethington. He will serve until the next election in November and is closing his private practice cases to start his new role.  The Owensboro Times
