Hundreds of vintage cars and their crews will stop overnight on Tuesday, June 24 along Veterans Boulevard in Owensboro as part of the nine-day Hemmings Great Race presented by Coker Tire.

The antique vehicles are expected to arrive around 4:30 p.m. and stay until about 8 p.m., and the event will feature family-friendly activities — including food trucks and live outdoor music — that welcome local fans.

The 66th annual Daviess County Lions Club Fair will take place from July 16 to 19 at the fairgrounds in Philpot, where families will see monster truck rallies, motocross races, livestock shows and carnival rides.

Organizers said the four-day event—featuring a Kids Day with free entry for young children and a talent contest—offers tickets at $15 for adults and $10 for kids aged 5–12.

A man allegedly using meth outside Owensboro Racing & Gaming led police on a high-speed chase reaching nearly 100 mph—nearly striking several vehicles—before his car broke down near the 600 block of West Highland Avenue and he was arrested on multiple charges after officers recovered meth and drug paraphernalia.
