🎭 Culture
Yellow Creek Park will add a new sculpture next to its updated sign to celebrate ROMP, raptors, and Kentucky's state tree.
The stainless steel art piece, commissioned by Larry and Rosemary Conder (county commissioner and executive director), features an owl and banjo strings, with sign completion to be announced soon.
🎓 Education
Five leaders from Daviess County, including Cate Gaddis, Lelan Hancock, Gil Mischel, Jill Switzer and Emmy Woosley, were selected for Leadership Kentucky's 2026 class.
They join 47 professionals statewide in a program offering seven three day sessions from June to December (covering topics such as business, education and healthcare).
🏈 Sports
Forge Challenge, a new hybrid fitness race by Edge Body Boot Camp, will be held on July 18 at the Owensboro Sportscenter — part of the Bluegrass Clash sports festival that tests endurance and strength in a race designed for everyday athletes.
Registration is open for both individuals and doubles.
