ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Crews responded to a house fire on Placid Place West in Owensboro early Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m. — the public is asked to avoid the area until the scene is clear.  44 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Owensboro father-daughter duo RC and Ryan Coffman enjoyed their family tradition at ROMP on Wednesday at Yellow Creek Park — tie-dye campsites, local art displays, and bluegrass music attracted many fans while community groups hosted artwork and parades for a four-day celebration.  The Owensboro Times
  • Residents in Owensboro are gathering as ROMP starts today with early campers lining up downtown and near Yellow Creek Park. Buffalo Wabs and the Price Hill hustle perform at 8:00 p.m.—Sheriff Scott and the Deputies follow at 9:30 p.m., and festival events resume tomorrow at 4:00 p.m.  14 News
  • Illuminate will transform downtown this fall as it debuts free from October 3 to 5 with 14 large installations, nightly drone shows, and live performances that let visitors interact with the art – city officials say the event has been planned for over six years and is expected to draw heavy crowds. Local organizers revealed more exhibits and programming will be announced in the coming months.  The Owensboro Times

  • Owensboro’s old Fire Station 3 was torn down and is being rebuilt as part of a $30 million plan to modernize fire services. The $6 million project, which nearly triples the station’s size, is set to finish in the first quarter of next year — firefighters now work on Lancaster Street until then.  TriStateHomepage.com
