- ➤ Senior centers across the Green River Area Development District region earned Veteran-Friendly certification after completing a training session hosted by the Department for Aging and Independent Living with support from the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs—this recognition will help veterans and their families access local services more easily. - ➤ The Owensboro Police Department reported that five people were arrested on Friday after search warrants at two Thornton Avenue homes led to the seizure of large amounts of drugs, 13 rifles, cash & other items linked to a drug trafficking investigation. The Owensboro Times
- ➤ Deputies responded to a fatal shooting on Thursday night near Saint Anthony Road off U.S. Highway 431 in Brown’s Valley when 57-year-old Darrin Ray Carter shot a man in the chest at close range—investigators noted the victim did not live at the home, was taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital where he later died, and Carter now faces manslaughter and other charges. 44 News
