Windy Hollow Road on the southwest side of Owensboro is closed after heavy rainfall eroded a culvert — county officials say the road will remain closed for several days until floodwaters recede, after which crews will excavate the roadway and install concrete to prevent future erosion.
Owensboro Fire Department deployed crews to help with water rescues beyond county lines after heavy rains flooded local areas, staging six members in Elizabethtown before moving them to Cumberland County Sunday morning — Gov. Beshear declared a State of Emergency to back the efforts.

Dugan Best Park hosted its first World Cup Street Soccer Tournament this weekend with 12 teams across three age groups; winners got medals and a miniature World Cup soccer ball, and Megan Knox said she plans to grow the event next summer (inspired by upcoming international tournaments).
