Organizers of the annual ROMP Festival said the four-day event—drawing over 19,500 people from 36 states and seven countries at Yellow Creek Park—proved a big success.

A contractor for KYTC began closing Ralph Avenue in Owensboro Monday for up to 30 days as part of the KY 54 widening project — motorists can use Commonwealth Court and Woodland Plaza Drive to bypass the blockage.

The Owensboro Blue Bridge is set to close in 2-3 weeks for a construction project that will replace a 750-ft span of concrete-filled deck and repair a second span since a full bridge closure is required—local drivers should plan to use routes through Henderson or the U.S. 231 William H. Natcher Bridge. Authorities say the repairs will continue until November, and a tentative July 14 start was reported but not yet confirmed by the Kentucky Transportation Department.
