- ➤ The Women’s Guild of Owensboro is accepting grant applications from local nonprofits to support projects for women, children or health initiatives, with $26,500 available in total. Applications are due August 22 and winners will be announced in September — Guild President Emmy Woosley said the funding continues the Guild's long-standing support for community projects. - ➤ The Warrick County Fair in Boonville began today at the 4-H center, offering livestock shows, motocross, live music, carnival rides and a demolition derby scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. In Philpot, the Daviess Lions Club Fair will begin on Wednesday and features a monster truck show at 7:30 p.m., a petting zoo and pony rides. - ➤ Just before 9 a.m. Monday, a train collided with a semi-truck near West 11th and Walnut Streets in Owensboro—police said the crash affected the 900 block of West 9th and the 1100 blocks of Locust, Cedar, and Walnut Streets, and no one was injured. 44 News

- ➤ Mizkan has acquired Zing Zang to add a new Bloody Mary mix and other drink mixes to its Inspired Mixology line—this follows a $156 million expansion in Owensboro announced last March. It is not yet confirmed if the new products will be made locally. WOMI Owensboro
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ RiverPark Center announced its 2025-2026 Broadway season featuring three touring productions scheduled from September through November. The season opens on September 23 with Austen’s Pride: A New Musical of Pride and Prejudice, includes Hadestown on October 17, and ends on November 15 with Dolly Parton’s Smokey Mountain Christmas Carol — Broadway subscriptions are available through July 30 and single-show tickets go on sale August 4. - ➤ Motorists using the Blue Bridge in downtown Owensboro faced a 90-day closure as American Contracting and Services began repairs at 9 p.m. Monday night to add a new concrete driving surface and replace a 750-foot span, and officials urged drivers on southbound State Road 161 to detour via the Natcher Bridge.
