International clowns from five countries will gather in Owensboro from July 24 to 27 for a three-day conference that includes performances, workshops, and local excursions — registered attendees pay $200 for tickets.

Owensboro Community and Technical College secured $1.3 million for TRiO student support services over 5 years to help students meet eligibility criteria (first-generation, income eligible, or with a documented disability) as part of its 20-year celebration of the program.

The first year will receive $272,374 while officials noted that federal funding changes may affect the program in the future.

Owensboro officials are considering a change to an old rule that bans backyard chickens after growing local interest, and City Manager Nate Pagan outlined a plan that would let residents keep up to five hens without roosters while requiring safe coop standards—public input will be gathered over the next few months.

The 10U and 12U teams will play in regional tournaments in Crown Point while the 11U team will not, showing strong promise as they move forward — all wins mark significant state achievements.
